Brief
This project will always hold a special place in our hearts, our first collaboration as a duo and the genesis of Soymilk Studio. Back in 2011, we had the honour and privilege of creating the official music video for Aussie rock legends, Powderfinger. This last released track Empty Space, marked the band’s best of compilation, Footprints. Completed in a 2 weeks record-breaking time, this 4-minute piece had to be a simple yet well-designed story. Hats off to our amazing crew who helped bring it all together!
Process
The music and lyrics being our only guide, we had to come up with a concept and story that fitted the emotional ups and downs of the song. The idea of two birds parting proved to be a great choice. We used a mixture of paper scanned textures and props with digital animation techniques, colour also played a crucial part in the storytelling.
