A series of Instagram Reels to promote Ciment, an artisanal soap factory in Paris and Bordeaux, their teams handcraft beautiful solid cosmetics with a design inspired by cement tiles.
We love their products and how graphically they lend themselves to be animated in stop-motion.
Process
We played with the technique of replacement animation using a multitude of soaps found in the factory to create moving geometric patterns.
We also used another technique by incrementally thinly slicing more complex soaps to reveal a surprising moving texture found inside the soaps, highlighting the cosmetics as little works of abstract art.
